Build a Brick Style Cutting Board
In this woodworking video, I'm making an end grain brick pattern cutting board, and detailing all the steps necessary to do so. End grain cutting boards are a bit more challenging to build but well worth it in the end. They last a long time and chefs love to cut with them. The brick layered pattern was made using walnut and maple wood, which look fantastic together.
I've put the materials list info graphic on my website if you would like to download it. It's listed in the file share woodworking folder, as well as, included in my blog post. Enjoy.

How to cut round bar on the bandsaw.
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
I'm using aluminum angle plate and clamping the round bar stock to it. This keeps it flat and prevents the bandsaw from grabbing the piece. Also there is a quick bonus clip, at the end, of a cool shop feature that I have on most machines in the shop. Enjoy.

This video shows how to remove that grease oil gunk called Cosmoline from your new machines, tools, or guns. New machines often come coated with grease to protect the metal from rust and corrosion. To remove it, you will need to use a solvent. Harbor Freight Mini Lathe - Unboxing
Просмотров 4,5 тыс.5 лет назад
I just purchased a Central Machinery precision mini lathe (7 x 10) from Harbor Freight so I can start hobbying around with metal projects: turning, cutting, and boring. The main project I have in mind is building a small internal combustion engine. As a build up to that I will be doing some less involved projects so I can get my feet wet on how to use the lathe. Here is the unboxing. Enjoy. Cen...
Sand Casting Flask Build: How To Guide
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
In this video, I build a flask to be used for sand casting projects. I take you through the steps and point out some of the useful points to keep in mind when building a sandbox flask. When metal casting, using a sand casting flask is a great way to make some really cool metal casting pieces that you wouldn't have been able to create using the lost foam technique. Enjoy.

This is a short video meant to help get you up and running quickly using an OLED display with Arduino. The OLED display I used was a .96" 128x64 I2C OLED display and I was connecting it to an Arduino UNO. I put a link to the tutorial I reference in the video below. It gives a more in depth explanation and examples if you have more time and want to explore all the intricacies of your OLED displa...
Nixie Tube Clock: building the casing.

I decided to take some time and build a casing for my Nixie tube clock. I went with a steam punk look as I like that look and you can throw something together quickly with spare parts from around the shop. If you haven't seen Nixie tubes before I suggest checking them out (link below). They look really tech and steam punk. They were used back in the 70s, and as far as I know they don't make the...

Hello friend, I would like some help from you, please. I would like to use your code but, instead of this sensor shown in the video, I have a Printer Optical Sensor, which has a small wheel attached to the motor and this wheel has 34 tiny windows for reading the sensor. Could you tell me what the calculations would be like in the code for the RPM, considering these 34 tiny windows? If you need it, I'll put a link here with the picture of my motor/sensor. My sincere thanks.

FYI. Cleaning down a butchers block can involve washing then sprinkling salt on the surface which is then used as an antibacterial abrasive. The board should be scrubbed or scraped. Also making them lighter since it will predominantly be used by persons wh🤔o are not accustomed to shifting large pieces of lumber. Perhaps measuring the width of a kitchen sink or basin before before calculating the dimensions of a kitchen board.
